The Band
The eternal duality of Vision und Tradition …
On one side old, traditional instruments; on the other, guitar riffing and driving blast beats. We never accepted that you have to pick a side. With us, bagpipes and death metal form a symbiosis — because the world isn’t only black or white. And when we veer off into progressive territory, it’s because sometimes it takes vision to reach new shores without losing sight of tradition.
Six people from Würzburg, together since 2010. Vocals, two guitars, bass and drums, plus bagpipes, rauschpfeife and keyboard.
It started quickly: back in 2010, at one of our very first shows, we got to open for Varg; in 2015 we stood on the main stage of the Out & Loud Festival. Add the festivals we feel at home at — Dark Troll Festival in 2016 and 2024, Wolfszeit in 2016 and 2019. At some point we stopped only playing scene festivals and started running one ourselves: the Skaldenfest.
2016 brought our debut album „Aus dem Schatten“ on NoiseArt Records, 2023 the EP „Ravenous Dreams“. In 2026 a mini tour took us to Lithuania for the first time, together with Ūkanose.
Fifteen years, a few line-up changes — and still the same idea as in 2010.
